Experience
Skillsoft - VP of Talent Enablement and Culture
2022 – Nov 2023
• Despite an ARR of $144M, Skillsoft was struggling through years of HR neglect and a complex acquisition strategy. My job was to fix the talent and culture systems of the ~2,500 person company and get it moving at start-up speed: values, OKRs, performance, training, team interventions, and DEI.
• Programs were successful and well-received, 95% adoption, significant improvement in culture scores, and sharp decrease in turnover.
Codecademy - VP of People (Acquired by Skillsoft)
2019 – 2022
• Led the People team from $9MM ARR Series C to $45MM ARR Series D and acquisition. Responsibilities included interim VP Finance for a year during the Series D.
• Talent Acquisition: Grew the company from 75 people to 220. Key hires included CFO, CMO, VP of Product, Chief of Staff, Engineering VPs.
• People Operations: Increased engagement score from a somewhat miserable 57 (out of 100) to a strong 75. Built out values, all processes and systems (including compensation and training), kept everyone sane through COVID and hyper-growth, instituted company OS to create clear ownership and deep focus.
NewsCred - Head of People Operations
2016 – 2019
• Led the People team through years of product market fit experiments: major strategy changes, a lay-off of 20% of employees followed by an increase of 100+ employees, and deep budget cuts.
• Increased eNPS from bad -2 (on a -100 to +100 scale) to strong 53 and kept that through the chaos.
LePort Schools - Organizational Effectiveness Manager/Interim HR Director
2014 – 2016
• Served as head of HR when the VP went on leave early and the recruiting and talent management heads quit. During this time, we grew LePort from 250 people to 400, and nine schools to twenty-three.
• Led expansion projects addressing people development, HRIS and Talent Acquisition systems, opening of a training center, and cultural events and annual meetings.
JetBlue Airways
